Mary Maher, M.Ed.

For more than three decades, Mary Maher has worked alongside the young people who need care most and the frontline staff who provide it.

Bio
Mary has led programs across more than 30 medical centers, including hospital school programs throughout New York City’s medical centers. Her career has been spent where pediatric and adolescent behavioral health care actually happens: on the unit, in the classroom, at the bedside, and in the moments when a young person’s distress either de-escalates or becomes a crisis.

That experience shaped a conviction at the heart of Coriven Group. The frontline staff who spend the most hours with young people have a profound influence on how those young people heal. Mary has made it her mission to give these professionals the skills, respect, and support their work deserves, and to elevate a role that too often goes unrecognized.

Neurodiversity Expertise
Mary brings deep expertise in supporting autistic youth and young people with ADHD, sensory processing differences, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She understands how often these young people are misunderstood in moments of crisis, and she prepares staff to recognize overwhelm, adapt their approach, and respond with calm and dignity.

Coriven's Approach
Mary leads every on-site assessment personally. She listens first to the people closest to patients, recognizes what teams already do well, and works with leadership to build practices that last long after training ends. Her work is warm, practical, and empowering, never punitive.
